A CARNIVAL FULL OF COLOR
A fun of colors, a delicious mixture of smells, textures and shapes all make up a picturesque carnival; roses, sunflowers, and carnations dance to the sound of the voices of their vendors in the Matuna sector, between Avenida Venezuela and Avenida Carlos Escallón. Although the Parque de las Flores or Flowers Park is not a tourist place, it is a traditional Cartagena’s space that vibrates with a multicolored energy in the heart of the city center.
More than 20 years of tradition has this representative place, that has filled with flowers and good energy celebrations such as marriages, baptisms, first communion, and «quinceañeras» parties, as well as many commercial celebrations such as Valentines’, Mothers’ day, Women’s day among many others.
A few florists gathered in the old public market, in front of the convention center began this tradition, when this event disappears the florist are relocated increasing this activity, settling in the sector where is it celebrated today. It does not go unnoticed in the eyes of those who walk through this zone, cross it or simply visualize it from afar would fill you with good vibes. Their vibrant colors brighten up life, as they will also brighten up a pigmented photo with magical tints upon, when get back from your holidays leaving behind the magical, colorful and historic city.
